The pool opened this weekend and the boys had a blast, but before it opened we had to find a way to cool off. Thanks Busia & Papa. (Ben thinks he has to wear his duck pfd every time he puts on his bathing suit.)

Kidsnips
Usually I cut the boys' hair myself, but it always ends up being a two-day project (Day 1 the cut, Day 2 fixing all the things I missed due to wiggling) and it never really looks as good as I'd like. So we made an event of the latest cuts and went to Kidsnips. They have barber chairs shaped like cars, and TVs at every station. You can see in Neil's pic that they have an extensive collection of DVD and video games. The boys were really good and they enjoyed the balloons and suckers they received for their patience. We even had lunch at Red Robin which concluded with more balloons. The boys say 'Balloons are the best'.

Calorie Counting
Recently Donna blogged about how Nate saw a nutritionist to learn how to properly add on more mass. So he's going to have a 4200 calorie diet. Ben and Neil seem to be giving him a run for his money today. Here's what they've eaten together so far today. Keep in mind this was by 12:30.
5 bananas
3 bowls of cereal
2 cups of applesauce
2 slices of roast beef
3 slices of cheese
2 serving of wheat thins
1 pint of raspberries
4 oreos
4 helpings of sun chips
At the last doctors visit Ben weighed in at 35 lbs and Neil at 29 lbs. We will now be accepting food donations – especially Cheerios and Oreos.

New Riding Toys
The boys must have been very good lately, because they've managed to get two new riding toys. The first is from Busia & Papa. It's a hand propelled scooter. The boys haven't quite gotten the gist of just using their hands (they scoot along with their feet), but with mom or dad's help the thing has been a hoot. Also Ben got a new two-wheeler – okay really four, for now. He's pretty pleased with it. He's quite good and getting on and off on his own and hopefully he get the pedaling part down quickly. Neil also enjoyed riding it with the help of mom or dad since he can't quite reach the pedals. The video's kind of shaky, since I was also trying to keep Ben from getting run over.
