The family took the day to head out to the zoo. A couple of animals thought Neil might be an easy target for sharing his animal crackers including this peacock. The squirrel who followed us for a fair distance was actually starting to get creepy. We were afraid he might actually jump in Neil's lap, he was that close. (Neil didn't share any crackers.) The boys were particularly amused by the Meerkats. Ben seemed to be on more of a scavenger hunt than a leisurely stroll. As soon as we spotted an animal he was eager to move on to the next. So it wasn't too hard to see the whole zoo before nap-time.

Part 2: Wet & Wild
On Saturday, Busia and Papa went to Costco during the boys nap and returned with two, twin barrel super-soakers. (Everyone can insert there own joke here about Costco, but it really is different here in IL. They sell alcohol here.) As for most toys, Ben got a bigger kick out of it than Neil, but leave it to Brian to get carried away. Let's just say Ben didn't get Busia that wet.
Finally Brian and I were able to take a much need night out for a date. We had a lot of fun at the Melting Pot. Luck us, we got an outstanding waiter.

Part 1: Down & Dirty
Busia and Papa came for a visit this weekend. They arrived on Friday just in time for the beautiful weather we had. With beautiful weather comes the re-opening of the sandbox. Ben thinks the sandbox is the best thing since sliced bread - with Busia and Papa - even better. Busia buried Ben's feet which was high-larious. Papa taught the boys the finer points of sandcastle construction and demolition of course.

Another Children's Museum
Today we took the boys to the Dupage Children's Museum. It's located right in Naperville, so it's not as much of a trek as the one downtown. It had some similar features (water to play in, lights to dance in front of), but it also had a pretty cool wind area that we did find in the downtown museum. Brian and Ben were able to play in the construction zone and Ben sawed his wood blocks, nailed them together, drilled a hole and put in a screw. Neil enjoyed crawling around on a wooden boat and watching the wind socks flutter. We weren't able to see all of this museum or the one downtown so there's always a reason to go back. (Sorry no pictures. Sometimes we forget things in the confusion of getting out the door.)
