The Dells

Ben petting his favorite gift shop giraffe.

Neil riding Garfield and holding a foam ball from the firing range.

As you can expect the words "water park" and "camera" don't really go together. So the pictures are few and none of them involve water. We stayed at the Wilderness Resort in a timeshare. Really great accommodations. We shared a huge suite with our good friends the Kuebelbecks. Ben didn't really warm-up to the water until our last day and Neil was unusually reserved. We were caught off guard by the three inches of snow we got while we were there, but the resort is set-up so you really never have to go outside. Just be prepared to hike it from one end of the resort to the other. In hide-site I think we will take a stroller next time, but I think we will definitely go back in the future.

Playing outside

The days are starting to fly by again now that we can spend time outside. This weekend was beautiful so we opened the sandbox and put on t-shirts.

Yesterday wasn't as beautiful, but breezy enough for Brian to be inspired by Donna & Dan to bring home a couple of kites. Bennet was a natural. Just put the kite in the kid's hand and he's flying it. Neil wasn't really interested in letting his fly away. As soon as a few girls showed up at the playground they were done looking at kites. We didn't think it would be like this until they were teenagers.

Luck of the Irish

Here are the boys expressing how delighted they are with the presents great-grandma sent them for St. Patrick's day. They make great pillows for Sparky & Dog-dog when the boys aren't in bed.

A weekend of firsts

We're at the point in our family where pretty much everything is a first for the boys, but even Heather & Brian had a couple first this weekend. On Saturday we went to a kid's expo. Some of the booths were trying to sell us stuff, but other had information about local services at least one we may check out. But the highlight was Ben being able to take his first Ferris wheel ride. He looked apprehensive when it first moved, but Brian coaxed him through the initial nervousness from the sidelines. Truth be told, if the boys were writing this they would say the best part of the event was the drive home with two balloons in the car. (We're considering buying them a helium tank instead of toys.)

On Sunday we packed the boys in the bike trailer and Brian pushed them on his rollerblades while Heather took her first outdoor run. Heather's been treadmill running since January. We didn't make it very far – probably only a mile and half, but you have to start somewhere.

Finally, Brian replaced the brakes on his car. After watching a few videos online he figured it didn't look too hard and gave it a whirl. Once he was finished he said he was mad. Mad that he's been paying someone else to do this for him all these years.

Peeps

Peeps are delicious. Don't you have yours with tortilla chips too.

Apparently so good it's almost painful.

Twins

We frequently get asked if Ben and Neil are twins, but it looks like these two are the real twins.
